Kaiwara Betta

Located in Chintamani, Chikkaballapur this is one of the most breathtaking trails to witness the Sunrise. Best done from October to March, avoiding the monsoons. This trek is under the Forest department and one has to book a slot at least 48hrs in advance to go here. This is a mix of gentle trails, Short walk through forests, Boulders, some mild inclines in between. At the top one is literally above the world. With the clouds floating below you, the sun rising in front of you and some amazing panoramic views. We carry along a packed breakfast in reusable containers, we enjoy a quick meal sitting around the tiny pond soaking in a view like Nowhere else. Kaiwara betta has a temple at the bottom which is of great historic importance. Karnataka’s great bilingual poet Sri Yogi Kaiwara Narayana Taatha, also known as Thataiyya is believed it have meditated at the hills of Kaiwara and hence the name.
