Everest Base Camp Trek (EBC)

The Everest base camp trek is one of the Dream treks for many people. Also one of the favourites in the Khumbu valley. This trek starts with a heart throbbing, scary flight to the dangerous airport in Lukla. From here, ahead in the trek we can get a spectacular view of mountains like Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse, Imja Tse etc, passing through various Sherpa villages like Namche bazaar, Monasteries like Tengboche, Rhododendron forests, crossing over various bridges and ascending and descending over various types of terrain. This trek becomes all the more cherish able because of the company of friendly and loyal Sherpas. The Highest point of the trek is Kala Patthar 5545m from where we get a panoramic view of the Mt.Everest 8848m and surrounding peaks. There will be plenty of time to enjoy the culture of the Sherpas and visit ancient monasteries, walk through the towns and explore the shops, stop at any of the numerous teahouses sip a glass Trekking Durationof sweetened tea or Chang [Millet beer, for the brave hearts ;)] and get a taste of hospitality unique to the Sherpas. Beautiful, multi-hued prayer flags, prayer wheels and intricately carved Mani stones line every hilltop, rock wall and trailside singing prayers to the gods with every breeze and every passing traveler.

Day 01: Kathmandu (1337m).

Your journey begins in Kathmandu, where you will be warmly received at Tribhuvan International Airport and transferred to your hotel. Take some time to relax and settle in before attending a trekking program briefing in the evening.

Day 02: Kathmandu Valley Sightseeing

Day 03: Kathmandu to Ramechhap – Lukla to Phakding (2610m)– 4 hours.

Early morning drive from Kathmandu to Ramechhap and transfer to Manthali airport. Take a scenic 15-minute flight to Lukla. Once you arrive, meet your porter and organize your luggage before setting up on a trek to Phakding, a journey that takes about four hours. Spend the night at a comfortable trekkers’ lodge in Phakding.

Day 04: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440 m) – 6 hours.

Day 05: Acclimatization at Namche Bazaar (3440 m).

Day 06: Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3867 m) – 6 hours

Day 07: Tengboche to Dingboche (4410 m) –6 hours

Day 08: Dingboche (4260m)

 Day 09: Dingboche to Lobuche (4910 m) – 6 hours

The trek continues from Dingboche to Lobuche, where the route turns into a dry and stony path. Enjoy views of the beautiful Khumbu Glacier, including a close-up view of Mount Everest. Spend the night in a comfortable lodge in Lobuche.

Day 10: Lobuche to Gorakh Shep (5140m) – EBC Excursion

Lobuche to Gorakh Shep (5180 m) – 4 to 5 hours – [Kala Patthar excursion 3 hours] –

After breakfast, start early to trek to Gorakh Shep. Trek up the valley following the rocky moraine path, view icy glacial pond and icebergs of Khumbu glacier, down below. Break the trek at Gorakh Shep for Lunch and a short rest. After lunch Start trek to Kala Patthar (5545m), the walk is steeply ascending until you reach a rocky spot Kala Patthar. We reach Kala Patthar around sunset to see a panoramic view of Mt. Everest and many other mountain peaks like Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku and many more. After the excursion and Photography, return back to Gorakh Shep. End the day with a joyful delicious dinner.

Day 11: Gorakh Shep to Lobuche/Thukla to Pheriche – 7 hours – [EBC excursion 5 hrs] –

After breakfast, early morning at 6am Start trek to Everest Base Camp (5364 m) about 2.5 hours, gently ascending with rough zigzag. After a short excursion of Everest Base Camp. Trek down descending to Gorakh Shep. After lunch, start trek to Pheriche. Overnight stay at trekkers lodge

Day 12: Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3440 m, 6hrs)

Day 13: Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2860 m)

Day 14: Lukla to Kathmandu or Lukla- Ramechhap to Kathmandu.

On day 14, board a 35-minute flight from Lukla to Kathmandu or Board 15 Minute flight from Lukla to Ramechhap and further drive to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to unwind, go for a sightseeing tour in Kathmandu, or simply relax at your hotel.

Day 15: Departure for home after a memorable and successful completion of the amazing EBC trek.

Risk and Liabilities

We will endeavor to make your program smooth and as pleasant as possible. However the entire programs of trekking are on the ranges of great mountains.  Therefore, Akka Adventures & Leisure and ANY related agencies shall not be responsible for any changes in the itineraries due to unavoidable circumstance and natural disasters such as landslide, road blockage, flood, snowing, cancellation of flight and delay, any types of sickness including altitude sickness.  Any extra cost including there shall be borne by trekkers themselves.

Insurance

Full trekking and travel insurance coverage for medicine, rescue evacuation, loss of belongs, and trip cancellation is strongly recommended.

Cancellation Policy

Full cost of the trip will be refunded (except airfare cancellation involved) till 3 Weeks, 21days prior to the trip, after that, the below mentioned cancellation rules will apply. If Akka Adventures has made ticket bookings the Airfare cancellation amount will also apply.

  • 50% advance while booking & 50% before 30days of travel
  • All other bookings will carry
    • 25% cancellation charges from day 1
    • 50% cancellation charges if cancelled before 30 days
    • 75% cancellation charges if cancelled before 15 days
    • No refund if cancelled less than15 days
