Channarayanadurga
Channarayanadurga is a multi level fort exploration trek. Located in Tumkur near Madhugiri, is a 17th century historic fort. We experience rocky terrain, fort ruins, and stunning countryside views from the summit. The trek involves climbing over steep, rocky slopes with a gradual ascent to the fort, which was a strategic military point for the Marathas and British. We cross various fort walls to reach a huge pond and temple. One can explore beyond and reach the top of the fort to get an almost aerial view of the surroundings. Best to visit in the Winters as it gets terribly hot during summers to trek and there’s no shade along this trek. And the monsoons make the slopes slippery.
